Bringing these two companies together combines over 50years for experience in hydraulic design and manufacture of Cylinders, Systems and Power Units with 45 years of Metal Fabrication.

The first adaption of IHS was created

In 1960, the first iteration of IHS was established with the formation of Industrial Hydraulics & Pneumatics. Operating from Stanley Street in West Melbourne with just a handful of employees, the company quickly built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality hydraulic solutions.

Industrial Hydraulic Services Pty Ltd (IHS) was officially registered in 1973. By 1979, the company had outgrown its West Melbourne premises and relocated to Nott Street, Port Melbourne. The purchase of this site enabled IHS to develop a purpose-built factory, significantly improving operational efficiency. Continued growth through servicing the domestic market and exporting throughout Southeast Asia soon necessitated larger facilities. In 2000, IHS acquired 391 Plummer Street, providing the capacity for further expansion.

In 2007, 371 Plummer Street was purchased, and the existing building was demolished and replaced with a state-of-the-art office and factory, effectively doubling the available floor space. In 2018, the company relocated to Dandenong South, Victoria, to further enhance its manufacturing capabilities. This move included significant investment in CNC machinery and Robotics to improve product quality and production output. This sustained growth and ongoing investment have positioned IHS as a global supplier of hydraulic products and engineered solutions.

A market leader and preferred supplier in the metal fabrication industry

Formed in 1980 CP Engineering was a family business, with it’s early success attributed to the hard work and level of commitment shown by the founder, Peter Tsekmes.

In the late 1980’s CP Engineering purchased updated equipment and upgraded the Eileen Rd, Clayton South facilities. In doing so CP Engineering became a market leader and preferred supplier in the metal fabrication industry

Continued investment and growth throughout the 1990’s and 2000’s cemented CP Engineering’s place in the Australian industrial landscape.
